PROVINCIAL AGENCIES

  • Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) The OGS, part of the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, has been very supportive of the project, both financially and technically. In addition to providing unrestricted access to their maps, data technical expertise and reports, the OGS has also provided substantial financial assistance to the project. With OGS support, the YPDT-CAMC project is preparing a series of groundwater resource reports for the Conservation Authority areas across the Oak Ridges Moraine.
  • Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Key MNR staff, mostly at the Water Resource Inventory Project of the MNR, have been tremendously supportive of the project. They have shared ideas with project staff and have been expeditious in sharing information and data. Their efforts have considerably benefited the project.
  • Ministry of the Environment (MOE) The MOE has provided funding to the project through the municipal groundwater studies initiative of 2001/2002.

FEDERAL AGENCIES

  • Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) The Geological Survey of Canada, part of Natural Resources Canada, has undertaken a comprehensive study across the Oak Ridges Moraine. GSC staff have gained a solid understanding of the geological setting of the area and have provided access to their data and their technical understanding. They have attended meetings, helped to interpret newly acquired data, and led field trips to local pits and outcrops. Their insights have been essential to the progress of the YPDT-CAMC project.
